lowered 1500 to buy?

Hi,

I came across 2001 1500 w/V6 that's been lowered. About 1.5~2" at the front maybe 1" in the back. I'm looking to use it for just light duty yardwork and what not around the house. I looked under the truck. Everything looks stock. I'm guessing the spring might have been cut at the front? Do you think it would be easy to restore back to stock height? I'm hoping just spring swap and an alignment. If not, do you think it should serve the purpose for me? I couldn't care less if it is lowered or not. I just don't want to have a potential problem down the road. Of course I'm being offered a great price. That's why I'm considering it. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I would add air shocks to the truck or air bags to lift it , so around the yard you dont bottom out .

"Lowered" to me implies "hot rod". I wonder how the previous owner treated the engine and drive train. Can you get a qualified mechanic to look at it?

if its not super low, and its level, its probably 2" in the front and 4 in the back. (not very low). Normally on a small lower like that they use spindles in the front and shackles in the rear. I would use it just like that. Hell it looks good if you ask me, and you can still use it for light duty stuff no problem. Look at the front tires for unusual wear, if they look good it is probably fine. And if its lowered in the way I discribed it will ride just as good as stock.
