need help with 93' 3/4 ton starter problem

I have a 93' 3/4 ton Silverado 4x4 with 182k miles on it, that won't start, won't even turn-over. Its a 350 engine with standard trans. Put a new starter in 6 months ago so I don't think that is the issue. All dash lights come on when I turn on the key, horn and radio are working find. Charged the battery overnight have 100% charge and still have the same same issue. Checked all the connections, seem tight. I did see one post on this group that said check the switch under the clutch and adjust it if needed. The truck has been acting up a bit, won't do anything but click when I hit the ignition until I pump the clutch and shift it through a couple of gears. I think the switch under the clutch would be the next place to look but the truck is broke down over at a friends house so I thought I would pose this question here hoping for any other trouble shooting thoughts. Any ideas?

Turn on the headlamps then crank it and see what happens to the lamps. If they go completly out, check the battery terminals. If they get dim, bad battery or starter.

Thanks Al,

They dim a bit but not all the way out? Any other ideas?

Thanks again,

Well, yes. Exactly what happens when you try to crank it? Does it click or try to turn the engine?

It just clicks or should I say just one click not like when your battery is too low to turn it over. In that case I have seen a click, click, click, you know?

I suppose it is all water under the bridge now, ended up having it towed to a shop...

Thanks for getting back to me...

Trying to "arm chair" this is hard. But it may be the starter solenoid. (Small cylindrical thing on top of the starter.) Or something as simple as a bad cable or connection.

AH-HA! Thats the clue. Anytime you have a one clicker, that means:

1.) Bad Ground. 2.) 'poping' a circut breaker that resets by itself, or has a button you can reset with.

My ed-cha-matated guess is that you have a lose ground cable from the battery.

Please let me know what the shop finds (sorry im too late to save you the tow).

For sure let us know what it was.

My guesses: They have ALL happened at one time or another on my 94 K1500 during the

220,000 miles it has on it.

Loose nut where the positive cable attaches to the solenoid. Internally corroded positive or negative cable. Loose ground. Trashed starter. Loose positive connection on a side terminal battery--as in broken INSIDE the battery.
