Anyone know if the backlights for the buttons on a 1997 Suburban delco radio are replaceable? The LED display works fine, I just can't see any of the buttons at night. Thanks.
Radio lights?

that suggests that the lights are probably ok, it is a connection went bad. check your connector at the radio end for loose terminals. or put it on a bench and see if you can light them up. if not, then a connection in the radio.
I pulled the deck out and all connections are tight. Actually the 3 and the 6 do light up, the rest are out. Thats why I was thinking it was bulbs that are out. In checking the deck, i don't see a way the face would come off to replace anything. Maybe it's just time for a new deck :(
the face will come off. it is a snap on design. then a couple of screws hold the circuit board to the face.
bulbs and that stuff can be had online at
mcm electronics parts express
you have to pull the top and bottom off. it will pop off. be persistent and careful. you can do it.
I'll give it a shot...Thanks
I have a similar problem.... my 2 and 4 still light up tho... for a while it was working intermittantly and now they are the only two that still light up.
the bulbs are burnt. if it's like mine, they're almost welded in. the dealer said that they can send it out for repair for around $150.00. I used it until all the bulbs went dead, got sick of it, then replaced with an aftermarket unit. check crutchfield.com

Have you had any luck yet? 95 Sub. with 3 and 6 buttons lit only.
Not yet...I have not tried again. Do any of the buttons need to be pulled off to get the face off? I remember from the first time that it seemed like the center of the face was attached somehow to the unit...
I got it off and had 9 bulbs replaced on the board at a local electronics repair shop for $18.00. Well worth it...THANKS
