Re: Help! '95 backfiring problem -solved

Well, it was the fact that it missed only when hot that drew me away from the simple stuff....

Popped off the cap and the center contact inside was worn down to nuthin'... replaced the cap and rotor and shit, it still backfired. While replacing the cap I noticed some corrosion at the top of the coil. Popped off the wire and there was of corrosion at the coil electrode and inside the wire. Tried cleaning out the contact and the wire practically fell apart in my hand.. Bingo. Replaced the wire and it runs great.

Wonder if the worn out cap somehow cooked the wire, or it was just coincidence that the two bad parts were only 6 inches from each-other. Anywho, Thanks for the help guys. Brian.
