I just got a small motorhome on a 2002 3500 Chevy chassis. It's a 350 with 410 gears. Gas mileage is around 9 mpg. Is there a problem switching to say a 373 or something similar? Thanks

If you dont mind being slower than a snail off the line, not being able to pass worth a damn and climbing grades at 20 mph, no.

True, but now his mileage will be around 9.5 rather than around 9 mpg. Or 8 when he puts more pedal down to compensate for the lack of pulling power.
or not having enough power to get out of a small hole at the campsite. 9 mpg is not bad for that rig. your best bet is to drive slow like 55mph
