I might be changing the timing chain and gears on my 89 GMC w/ 305 engine. Does the oil pan have to come down to get the timing cover out/off? The repair manual says yes, but is it possible to work it off/out AND get it back in place without problems or leaks later. Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.
