code 37refers to 3 items,

1:Shift indicator light failure, 5-speed I GOT AUTO TRANS 2:part throttle lock/unlock solenoid driver circuit (87-89)

WRONG YEAR

3:solenoid coil circuit (85-89 Turbo I-IV) WRONG YEAR & truck is NON-TURBO 4: Trans temperature sensor voltage low (1995 and on;

see NOTE 2) Note 2 From the 1995 TRUCK manuals: the trailer towing package includes a transmission coolant temp sensor while the standard package doesn't. This may cause the low (no) voltage indication.

I Checked around the transmission and found a 2 prong connector coming out of the wiring harness and its not connected to anything. I can't find anything to plug that into on the transmission. There are three other cables connecting to the transmission, all on the same side, one in the front by the shifting levers(3 big wires), a small 3 prong connector somewhat in the middle and another 3 wire one on the back end. Also when I am doing about 55MPH and depress the gas pedal down, not enough to kick the gears down, the RPMs pick up about 200RPM and the speed starts to creep up. The truck drives just fine. Advance Auto had a sensor with two pins but I can't find it on the transmission.

Questions: Where is the temperature sensor for the transmission coolant. What is that dangling 2 prong connector for?

Help PLEASE.

I installed a new EGR valve. Ran the truck for 15 minutes on the highway, no engine lite. YEA!!! Why this would make code 37 go away is anyones guess.
