2000 T&C minivan headlamp wont come on.

Rats, My wife's Town and Country had a 'dead' headlight - drivers side. I figured it would be no big deal to put in a new one. Which was easy. Unfortunately, when I took the old one out, it seemed to be "okay", the filament was intact and the glass wasn't darkened. So I put in a new one, and tested to see if it came on. NOPE! I tried to see if the 'wires' were missing any insulation, but there is only about three or four inches of 'loose' wire before it goes into a wire bundle that is wrapped with heavy plastic, and I couldn't tell (easily) how far down towards the left front tire it went. The wire bundle is pretty "tight" and inflexible at that point, just below and behind the light element replacement.

Does anyone have any similar experience with this kind of probably wiring anomaly on a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country??

Thanks in advance for any info!

Fuse Number 19 in the PDC (power distribution center) is probably blown. That would be under the hood next to the battery inside the black fuse/relay box

MaxPower,

Okay, I will check it tonite after wife gets home. Am i foolish in thinking that the passenger side lights are FINE? and on a different fused circuit? I know I am pretty SIMPLE, but it seems that some of the other headlamps would be fused with the same circuit? When I checked the new bulb yesterday, passenger side was fine. Drivers side was fine as far as turn signal, "fog" light, high beam, ONLY the low beam wasn't coming on?

I will check the fuse box and let ya know. I don't suppose the PDC is an easy open device?

thanks MaxPower

Hey, I checked the "box" under the hood. Found the fuse for the Right Low Beam, 20A - it looked fine. I exchanged it with the 20A fuse for the cigarette and accy. Driver's headlamp STILL dead.

Hey MicCanic! What is under the dash? more fuses? What am I looking for? The box under the hood was VERY well marked and was easy to read/understand. Where am I looking for a box under the dash? The car is gone right now, but it will be back if not by tonite, tomorrow!

Thanks

Mic Canic,

Okay, I will have to check it tomorrow, or later. Real life seems to be getting in the way of internet life right now. So, this secondary fuse box under the dash has similar markings on it to identify the circuit for "lobeam headlamp left side"?

I take it this "panel" or box is like just afore the knee, under/behind the dash, NOT near the "firewall"....?
