Bob- you are 50 years old- you graduated from high school around 1974- so the earliest you could start driving was 1972, at the earliest. So how could you be "driving these cars in the 60's" ?? That would mean you were driving a car at the age of 12, if it was 1969. Seems to be a load of BULLSHIT from you again, on this.
You tried to do the SAME THING, with a "Vietnam War" story- when the war was OVER before you even graduated from high school.
Who the hell are you trying to bullshit ??
You are assuming that every brake line and fuel line on a 51 year old car is up to snuff ? Wake up- ALL the lines have to be replaced on something that old. And almost ALL of them have rotted out gas tanks, from internal condensation.
You also left out the fact that engine had hydraulic valve lifters, which most likely will now be stuck and rapping like hell. Being it sat there not running for so long, with all the valve springs open/closed in various positions, it may also have STUCK VALVES. You should stick to bluffing about electronics, because as a mechanic, you're a terrible liar.
The family decided to KEEP the car, because in reality, you never DID give them $500 deposit. You asked how much, they told you, and you can't afford it. Do you really think anyone would believe you're in the market for a vintage car, when you complain about penny tapes on Ebay ?
It doesn't fit your economic profile. You don't have money for things like vintage cars.
And you also don't have a Cadillac. Besides, wasn't it you that said GM is a laughing stock ?? See it here:
