Use an 18 inch length of fuel hose and a funnel to test your fuel filter:
New -- 29 fl oz in 30 sec. Used -- 9 fl oz in 30 sec.
The back pressure for a new filter is estimated at .25 psi at WOT at BMEP max. It can be measured in the lab with a manometer. The back pressure of the used one is unknown.
Suggest the following design changes:
Spin on fuel filter. Change in 30 sec. Avoid clamp on hose. May leak. Also, the old hoses are difficult to remove and replace to a new filter. Hoses to spin on fixture Airquip type. Differential damped pressure switch across the input-output mounted to spin on fixture. Set to trigger signal to computer at 10x (2.5 psi) backpressure for 5 sec. or more. Fault code: Check filter.
This will eliminate fuel pump failures due to xs backpressure.
Expect to see it on the Pacifica!
