All the tools at Canadian Tire are Chinese-made garbage.

I purchased and can recommend the Excel Commercial 2600 PSI pressure washer with the Honda (5-6HP?) gasoline engine. It runs great and is light enough to easily transport. In addition, when transporting , the handle removes and can be turned around so it takes up far less space. The pressure hose and wand both have quick release fittings and the 5 nozzles provided are color coded and easily accessible in the holder. The washer cost me just $388 brand new at the local Home Depot. I wonder now how I ever got by without one for so long...

Their wrenches and sockets are made by Klein Tools.

If you want a really good pressure washer, expensive but good. buy a snap-on washer, I have one and very pleased with it. I also have a smaller Simonize washer, so far no complaints, did have to buy a new wand for it though.

BFD. Chevrolet makes both Corvettes and Cavaliers.

Too subtle for me but while we're not on the subject, care to offer a comment about how D/C, on the Pacifica at least, seems to have arranged to have one DRL shut down when the adjacent TS is activated?

My gut feeling (as expressed by others here) is that sub- $200 washers, particularly Karcher, are to be avoided.

Any other Cannuks have a Princess Auto nearby? Yes, they have wrenches made in China, but at $7 for a set of 24, at least they charge what they're worth.

While on the topic of power washers, I've not seen any definative articles about how many PSI or GPM (or the product of the two) relate to cleaning ability (or dammage-ability, as the case may be).

Princess Auto is almost always having sales on power washers. A July flyer has a 3 GPM, 2000 psi washer (with 5.5 hp honda engine and Bertolini pump) for $900 CDN - equivalent to $695 ISUSD (Incredibly Shrinking United States Dollar). This is classified as an "commercial/agricultural" class washer. A cheaper one ("consumer class", 2.9 gpm, 2200 psi, 5 hp honda, Bertolini pump) was on sale for $629 CDN ($485 ISUSD).

I take it that Bertolini pumps are worth seeking out in a power washer... ?

Cleaning Units are defined as Gallons Per Minute multiplied times the pressure per square inch. I have no idea if this is an actual estimate of cleaning ability or just marketing hype. My PW is 2600 PSI at 2.1 GPM and does an outstanding job on just about anything. I can't imagine needing more power unless you want to bore holes through hard materials. The good news is that you can always use a wider/larger angle nozzle and also back up to put more distance between the nozzle and object being cleaned to reduce the probability of damage.

Well you said all their tools were garbage, I just pointed out their hand tools are made by Klein.
