c5 loss of power

Feb 13, 2007 2 Replies

few weeks ago had the infamous "pollution filter error" message appear

24 hours later it was gone. but since then fuel economy is 30% lower and so is the power

Citroen garage have replaced air filter and some kind of fuel sensor things have got better as the car will now accelerate but nothing like it used to fuel economy is 36mpg at best used to be high 40's

anybody got any ideas.

Gareth

Assuming that it is an HDI engine, which you don't say, then "pollution filter" is more likely to be the particle filter in the exhaust which is now blocked with ash, and needs cleaning or replacing. Don't be talked into a new one as they do a service exchange at a far lower price.

sorry yes it is the 2.0 hdi

the warning message has gone but the power and fuel consumption is still rubbish

ill ask the citroen garage about that - would that cause the above problems

thanks for the reply

Gareth
