BMC Crankshafts

May 31, 2007 4 Replies

I have 2 old crankshafts (unused in original packing).

I think first might be a Mini 970 S item. Cast no is AEG171 EN40B and second might be 1100 crank. Cast No 12A298

Any experts on old BMC Part nos out there that can confirm?

What's wrong with Googling for this info?

First is 1071 S crank, second 997 cooper.

Would you be willing to sell the 1071 crankshaft?

If so how much would you like?

Tim, I have no idea of reasonable price from 1071 crank, I will research. Do you want to make (reasonable) offer?

Don't forget to include some very protective packaging, not just a jiffy bag. I'd suggest a wooden box with plenty of stuffing. These packages get thrown around without care by delivery companies and, while cranks appear robust, a small ding on a journal is actually a lot of damage. I've heard of camshafts arriving in two pieces before.
