Fuel sender mounting ring

I am trying to source one of the above. It is for a standard Smiths

6-hole top-mounted sender. Whoever made the tank didn't follow the drawings, and the sender float can only operate in half the available space. I need a Tom and Jerry cartoon finger that descends from the sky and pulls the hole into the correct position. Failing that, it needs a new hole, with mounting ring, in the right place. I believe that removing and re-using the old one would be impractical. Searches all produce the sender and sometimes the cork gasket, but I can't find the mounting ring.

Any ideas?

is this the same vehicle which had the float full of petrol about 18 months ago ?

in which case ... somebody at

might be able to help you out ?

Thanks. Yes, it is the same car. I will ask that company. I have contacted a couple of other similar ones, but no responses yet.

Theres a load of "Motoraport" shops which will sell you a aluminium flange which is for welding on to some sort of aluminium racing tank.

They all appear to have holes which are threaded, but if thats a problem I guess you could just drill it out ?

Might be worth thinking about if you cant find anything made of steel ?
