mgb gt tin worm

Sep 30, 2003 1 Replies

After 30+ years of abuse my wife's mgb gt has failed its test on rot to the front footwell area and the jacking points. Now I know not to try and cut out the sills and the rail that runs the length of the floor (castle rail??) because the door way sags. I'm planning to fabricate replacement sections for the front and treat the rotten bits a layer at a time.

However having taken the wing off with difficulty I'm beginning to wonder if it is possible to reassemble it without taking the dash/fascia panel out, those top bolts accessed from the footwell were more difficult to get at then I expected and I cannot see how I'll get them back. Any tips?

No great hurry as I suspect this job is going to take quite a while.

go to the mg-mgb group at yahoo and BTW all the panels can be bought from moss...
