A friend has recently purchased a 1985 4 door RR. He brought it round today for me to weld up a "small hole" in the passenger foot well. The small hole is about the size of a sheet of A3 paper.....
Decided to do some prodding about for him, as he hasn't checked any body work yet (has had it 3 weeks). Surprise surpise:
Both front inner wings rotted Both outer sills rotted, inners okay... Back end, lest said the better: Both wheel arches, rear inner wing sides, and rear inner wing floor panels. He suggested undoing the seatbelts from their mounts, I just pulled them straight through the wheel arches..... It is bad.
Anyway, he can get repair panels for the front inners, outer sills and foot wells, but the problem are the rear inner wings.
Have tried the usual suppliers for the complete rear inner wing complete with wheel arch, but nobody seems to list the part for the 4 door, only the
2 door...., same for the parts separately except the wheel arch, which seems to be common.
Does any body know where we can get the 4 door rear inner wing complete with the wheel arch, or the separate components, or should I just modify the 2 door panel to suit?
