Racing a Alfa 105 1600GT

Are there any good book or web sites detailing tuning the Alfa twin cam engine? I'm considering racing in the BARC championship and I've been offered a standard mid 70's Alfa 105 1600 GT. Unfortunately the body work is, not surprisingly, very poor but the car comes with a good engine and lot of spare parts. I also don't seem to be able to fine a supplier of Alfa parts, standard or modified, in the UK. Preferably in the NW or Midlands. From looking at the bore, stroke and valve sizes, it looks like about 160hp should be possible at around 7,000RPM. But again, I don't know where I can get hold of suitable camshafts or how strong the standard bottom end is.

Many thanks, Toby

There used to be a company in Fleet, Hampshire, that did Alfa parts, but no idea if they are still there...otherwise try

ask them if they know of anywhere that will do parts for you...they arelikely to know?
