'93 coupe - "Service ASR"

Jul 09, 2008 0 Replies

This evening while cruising at a constant 40 mph the car suddenly bucked a bit and the "Service Engine Soon" light came on in the DIC. A quarter-mile or less later that went out and the "Service ASR" light came on and stayed on. For the heck of it I punched the ASR button to turn it off. Found a place to pull off the street and stopped. Shut it down and it restarted fine with no "Service ASR" light. Drove a while with no other problem.

Any thoughts or experiences with this? Cursory internet investigation shows something about corroded contacts going into the A/C compressor. The A/C was on at the time, cranked up a bit.
