1994 Dodge Caravan Transmission problems

Nov 07, 2005 1 Replies

I have a 1994 Dodge Caravan that just recently started have some problems with the speedometer. It happens every once in a while, you start it up, put it in gear and the speedometer won't work. Then the transmission seems to act funny when you let off the accelerator its slows down quickly like the transmission is in a lower gear. Would anyone know what would cause this problem? A speed sensor possibly? I'm hoping this is a common problem that is easily fixable. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You!

Certainly sounds like the vehicle speed sensor would be the first place to look. Also a scanner with the appropriate software might indicate that also.
