Getting code P0601 using the ignition key to check codes from check engine light being on. Looking in the Haynes manual seems like it is fairly easy to get to. Do I need to use any electronic tools to complete this job? Is this a do-it-yourself job, or is it better left to the pros?

You can replace the PCM but the dealer will have to program it. If you have a gray key (SKIM vehicle theft) the car will not start until the PCM gets the secret code installed.
