ok.... i don't know where to go from here. this this is still stalling and unstartable. intermitently.
thought it was the fuel pump, but 12V to the pump kicks it on. so that leaves the ASD... jumping the coil to the battery also makes the fuel pump run. could still be the ASD, though it won't start with the fuel pump running.. so i checked for spark. no spark.
so the coil fires up on and off, it will start and run perfectly normal sometimes, but most of the time there is no even starting it. and i doubt that the coil can be "kinda-sorta" bad. i figure they're pretty simple, they either burn up or they don't. there's also no pattern that i can tell to the stalling. i can't say "when the wipers come on the car stalls" --kinda thing, i.e. i can't tell what's causing it.
so the question is.. where to check next? i can try decyphering the wiring diagram to find out where those little wires to the coil come out, but in the meantime, anyone have a simple suggestion?
