96 Grand Caravan Stereo issue (Infinity)

Hi, first time post. I have a 96 Grand Caravan that the Infinity head unit is fried in. works, but all the butons are backwards. I have heard that I can't change out the stereo without changing out the whole system, speakers and all. Is this correct? Thanks in advance!

I know there is something different about the Infinity system, but I don't know what it is... You might try

- they are very knowledgeable about car audio stuff. I'm fortunate enough to have one of their stores in town, that's where I get most of my electronic toys...
