does anyone know why a power steering resivoir would smoke?
Only if it leaked, and you were low on power steering fluid, and burned up the rack. But that shouldn't have happened unless you don't check your fluids.
fluids are full. i filled it yesterday and it started smoking today.

I have the same problems. But the burning odor comes from the rear
