Electronic problems after trying to hook up a stereo

My son bought a new stereo system, he got it all hooked up and ready to mount, then it went dead. His dome light and auto locks don't work either. We had the fuses checked out and they are all fine, any ideas what it could be and where to begin to find out the problem?

There are several fuse blocks to check, some under the dash, some under the hood. Start by removing the stereo and wiring that was altered. The easiest way for installing a stereo is to purchase a wiring harness such that no splicing or cutting of wires is needed. They are less than $20 at most car stereo stores or Walmart.

What year/make/model of car?

The more info you can give about the vehicle will determine how much info you will get back. Starting with what kind of vehicle this is, and what year it is!!! Most vehicles also have fuses under the hood
