camaro console door repair kit

The plastic hinge on my recently acquired 1995 Z28 console lid is broken off but the hinge portion on the console itself is still there minus a hinge pin. Is there an aftermarket repair kit available for this or do I need to buy a new lid. The dealership says the hinge frame is not sold separately from the "pad" which constitutes the arm rest. It's $66 plus tax but seems a pity to replace the entire unit just for the hinge, especially when it can be removed with two bolts....

Thanks for any help

You might be able to save a few bucks on the complete lid that way.

I'm not aware of any repair kit for that specific issue. Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 26k orig. '79 "Y89" 400/4 speed 10th Ann. Watch their shipping, it can be quite high.

Shipping for the door assembly (@$38) was $7.95 but shipping for the 2oz. hinge pin (@$2) was $5.95. The shipping on the hinge pin would nearly double the cost over the dealership price -- after paying the shipping.

None the less I'm saving a bunch by buying the console door from gmpartsdirect.com. The link you gave me is a bonanza!

Happy holidays!

Good for you :). I've never used them, I use my local dealers, I get a great discount there and don't have to pay shipping for anything :).
