olds 403 in 80 camaro, will it fit?

I have a 80 camaro That a friend of mine sold me and the motor thats in it is garbage. I am wondering, would an olds 403 motor match up with the 350s motor mounts on the frame or would the mounts have to be moved? Am I lucky or do I even want to attept it?

It will fit since the 403 was offered in the 79 body which is substantially identical to 1980. The motor mounts probably will have to go, but the ones with the Olds motor will be fine or else you'll have to get some. Any Olds V8 mounts from 307 cid on will work. BUT, the accessories on the front of the 403 and Chevy 350 SB are mirror images and that will reult in a big bracketry and plumbing hassle.

You will need to move the mounts, as well as use olds mounts. 78-81 Firebirds could be had with olds 403's so the mounts can be found at salvage yards. The transmission will need to be changed if you old engine was a chevy. Charles

Olds and Chevy brackets do not interchange for this.

You will need Olds V8 brackets and mounts. The mounts any parts store should have. The brackets, from a junkyard, GM, or Ebay as suggested.

The 403 is a big league pig. Why you want to put this in the car is beyond me :).
