yeah, i bought my wife an 03 passat (1.8l T) i've been tempeted to upgrade it already lol i'm waiting for this kit to be released, (bigger turbo, remapped ecm, header, bigger downpipe) $2500. will change the 170/180hp to almost 300hp. not as fast as my bb 69 camaro, but should be able to keep up lol. only downside i've seen so far is that it requires @ least 5W40 synth oil and

91 octane. after the upgrade, 93+ octane.

Test drive the Golf GTI with the V6 engine. Its like driving a roller skate with a 454 Chebby big block grafted on. Turn off the traction control and the (front)tires will roast with every shift.

A female friend of mine has a 2002 V6/automatic. I drove it several hundred miles on a road trip recently and have to agree. For the $$, it's the best in German bang-for-the-buck, seat of your pants fun. This car has all the options including sport suspension, which does pretty well.

The car feels solid at speed ( 80 to 95 maximum for me ) and handles really well.

Too bad a good number of the "German" ones are actually made in Mexico :).

My sister's 2000 VW Jetta has had the windows fixed 7 times, and it blew a head gasket at 15,000 miles. The dealer tried to deny the head gasket problem, but my brother-in-law had a "No fault found" report from 2001 when he told them there was foam on the oil cap! :)
