2000 Explorer - Any opinions?

I'm looking at buying a 2000 Explorer that has just come off lease with only

38k miles. Looks to be in excellent shape. I'm having a mechanic do a pre-buy inspection. Anything I shouold look out for? It's black - How does this paint wear long-term (I'm a buy and hold type)? I had a silver gray Taurus that had crappy paint after about 6 years...

Thanks

I have 2000 with 47K miles. A lot of bugs when new (most of them minor), but these have been fixed (under warranty) and the car is doing OK now.

I have V8 and mileage is between 16 and 21 mixed driving.

My 2000 has 88,000 miles on it. I bought it new, and have been pleased. Routine maintenance only, no problems. White, no paint problems.

My EB has had only two problems, front seals squeaked, replaced under warranty. And one big "aw poop'" at 32k miles the thermostat stuck closed and the coolant backed up through the expansion bottle. Ford towed it to the shop and replaced the thermostat and thermostat housing.
