I checked the fuses already.
Of course it just might be the element if you use it as a lighter instead of a 12V supply.
My 92 had a failure of the lighter when the connection to it failed when the wire broke at the crimped on connector. Remove the ash tray by removing two screws and pulling it out. Then you can check the wiring or replace the lighter as required.
CAUTION: That circuit is hot all the time. Best to disconnect the battery if you pull it apart.
