I did try it myself, then I got a power supply from Pioneer which lasted 3 months before acting the same way. Then I got one from the Save My Sanity Program that had higher temperature rated capacitors and has been working flawlessly for 8 months to date (if you're radio is like mine, I think the CDs are actually glowing from the heat when I take them out of the radio...this has got to be a major problem with these radios).
