I own a 1997 Explorer XLT.
Recently the dash board security ("THEFT") lamp stopped blinking in the dashboard. This lamp is activated when the car is locked or when the keyless entry system is enabled (by entering the security code). Took car to garage and they replaced the special bulb with a new one (a FORD only part) and it still did not work. Garage tech claims that the bulb socket appears to be burnt out and that I might need a new circuit board to get this lamp to work again. Otherwise, the keyless entry and keyfob security work just fine.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas or suggestions?
