my 1999 ford winstar will not shift into overdrive, and runs fine with overdrive button turned off .. is there somthing simple wrong with it or will the whole trans have to be replaced ??

How does the van ride with the overdrive button on?
It sounds like the electronic controls that control what gear the transmission is in or it could be a sensor.
