2007 Mustang Radio Removal??

Feb 24, 2007 1 Replies

Any pointers on how to remove the radio in the new Mustangs? Most car radios have 2 holes on each side for inserting a special tool and the radio just pulls out. No such holes on the Mustang. Looks like the trim piece around the radio and climate controls has to come off first and there are no visable signs of fasteners on the trim piece. I don't want to just start prying on stuff till I know what I'm doing. Thanks!

You have to remove the upper part of the console and then the trim piece around the radio. If you buy your replacement stereo from Crutchfield they send you a nice description of how it is done. My son has pulled his radio out twice now (once to install the new one, and then again so I could fix his wiring mistakes). It is not difficult if you have the instructions. Crutchfield will sell you the instructions for $4.99.
