95 ford escort dash light

tonite the airbag dash light would flash on and off randomly. the airbags did not go off and i didn't do anything different or hit anything. So why is it flashing? ====================== Because there is something wrong with the system. It needs to be fixed or you risk the bag not deploying in a head-on collision.

Fault codes are flashed by the airbag light. A single flash with a few seconds between it is Code 1. A double flash and a pause is code 2 and so on. my airbag light recently started flashing code four. to fix this i left car off for 30 minutes under the seats and the plactic panel between seat and door are wires and connectors, colour coded yellow indicating srs related wiring. i unpluged and pluged them back in and it fixed problem. i have read many places that the connectors are common fault and people even soldered the wires together to stop it happening again.
