hello, i have a 96 taurus that i cant figure out. when you start the car everything works. When you pull it out of park the radio goes silent and then comes back on for a while(maybe 3 miles , maybe 15 miles) before it goes back off and most of the time stays off. when you put the car back in park the radio comes back on. also when you are driving every so often the seat belt light flashes on and off(with clicking noise) and then the intermittent wipers, electric windows and rear defrost will not work until you put the car in park and then everything works fine. i thought relay switch but am not sure why putting the car in park would have anything to do with a relay switch. any help would be appreciated

The problem with your radio is, of all things, the Manual Lever Position Sensor (Neutral Safety Switch). It is very common for then to short internally and cause this symptom. It is on the top of the transmission, under the shift linkage. This may well be the cause of your other problems, it's been a while since I looked at the wiring diagram. Auto Zone price $24.99. Wells Brand. I would suggest pricing the MLPS elsewhere, Wells products aren't known for their quality. Tom
