Replace Camshaft Position Sensor - 96 OHV Taurus

I need to check/replace CMP on 96 Taurus (OHV). There is a big fat wiring harness blocking the access to CMP and I cannot figure out how to move it around without causing some harm to it.

Can anyone who has changed CMP share their experience?

ur supposed to take the intake manifold off to get to it...

just break the plastic in half... then tape it back up... that will get the wires out of the way.

if u take the sensor off, then u might find that the synchronizer is broken, adn that will have to be replaced, too... when u take it off, make sure u mark where u took it off... so u can put it back in exactly the same spot
