1977 F-150 steering issues

1977 F-150 4x4

front steering linkage issues. has the Y type steering linkage. It has only one tie rod end, that being on the driver's side. The other tie rod end is part of the main drag link. Parts store says $260 for part, and dealer I'm sure is more. Does anyone know if the straight style steering linkage off of a 78-79 will work with the drag link on my truck? I have a friend who will sell me all the steering off of a 78 Bronco, which is the straight style, but he is 6 hours away. Also, I installed a new power steering pump 2 months ago, to reduce the leaks (marking my territory). Now, when I fill up the pump, it works, until it finishes pushing all the fluid out of the fill hole. Ready to give up. Any help, especially on the linkage would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Kelly, Have you tried the forums on fordtrucks.com? They have one specific to 73-79 trucks that might be more help.

Did they tell you, you could fix your original steering linkage?
