Cleaning the engine compartment @ the carwash

I know there is a setting at the carwash that states it is for theengine compartment. I have a 2002 Ford Ranger 3.0L V6. Will using thisdegreaser and water damage or prevent anything from running? Is therestuff I should cover up, or would it be a good idea to just not messwith cleaning up the engine. Thanks for the help! Tony

I use x-news for some things and OE for others. Both are fine if you know how to use them. I really should cut him a break tho.
