The column is way too soupy to be safe.
I'm trying to find a conversion floor shifter, shift kit for a Ford 3 speed manaul trans for the `74 Ranger F-100 pickup.
TIA

Before you cut up your truck, the columns are easy to repair. The hard part is removing it. You can find lots of help in the early Bronco group's archives. I imagine there are lots of other places where it has been discussed. The typical problem is the lever goes to neutral and the transmission stays in first, locking up the shift mechanism.

Most likely just needs a 5 minute adjustment. Don't butcher the truck cause your too lazy to fix it properly. You'll hate an aftermarket floor shifter.
Well, that is one man's opinion.
Personally, moving the 3-spd column to the floor on my 72 Bronco was the best thing I ever did to that rig. No slop and the shifter felt like it had been there forever.
