Coolant leak. 97 Ranger

Oct 17, 2006 2 Replies

I have a 97 Ranger. V6 4litre. There is a valve near the left side of the engine that is leaking coolant. It has four water hoses and a vacume hose operating it. Can someone tell me what this thing is called so I can order a new one? Seems like a heater by-pass???

Thanks,

Briang

Yep, heater control valve like Ollie said. I had to replace mine this past summer on a '98 4.0L when it started leaking where the metal actuator arm comes out. Much to my surprise, a new one was under 10 bucks at AutoValue and took maybe 10 minutes to change.
