I'm considering buying a 94' Explorer. I do not have one picked out yet, what I'd like to know is if there are any chronic problems with this model year. An automatic transmission is an absolute requirement, four-wheel drive is not.

I love Fords. That's all I buy. I bought a 2000 Explorer Sport with 23,000 on it. This is the biggest piece of crap I've ever owned. It's a crappy truck that rides like a brick. It's a lousy car that handles poorly and has major blind spots. It has little mechanical and trim problems that nickel and dime you to death. If you want a nice vehicle stay away from the Explorer. It's junk.
