We have a 2002 Windstar with the 3.8, 80K miles. What would cause it to high idle on start even when warm? After a 10 mile drive, shut it off for maybe 10 minutes..then when started it will idle at 1700rpm, then after 2 minutes, drop to 1100, and then another minute drop to 900. This doesn’t seem normal in the hot summer time… Cold or warm it runs thru this process.. It has started doing this in the last month or so.
