Ideas for flexible tube?

The fresh air intake tube(duct) on my '81 is falling apart due to age. This piece is the flexible plastic transition tube(duct) between the intake at the grill and the air cleaner. Prowling the junk yards is out. I know I can buy the piece from LMC, but it will cost almost $20 with the $8 shipping charge. The piece isn't on the dealers parts system anymore. Anyone have an idea for an acceptable substitute? Thanks

I don't know the diameter of your particular duct. Here are a few ideas:

This plastic transition tube/duct isn't round, it's rectangular.....maybe 2"x6"x18"L

Sears used to sell a rectangular dryer hose, but I don't know what size it was. It was mainly used in limited-clearance situations. Don't know if they still carry it or not. But then again, hardly anything at Sears is less than 20 bucks. Good luck!

There is/was also a rectangular hose/tube used for kitchen vent hood exhaust.
