No problem. It is called a heated garage.

Nonfrugal and very harmful in a locality using salt/chemicals on the roads. Regular melting causes greatly increased rusting and corrosion of metal. Ideal heating of vehicle storage areas would be only to the point where there is NO melting.

Seems like the best method is to live somewhere that they don't salt the roads and the snow doesn't fall. I'm sure places like that must exist somewhere. :)

Yes I have used an iron, but an iron is not designed to be used unattended. My iron says right on it. Do not leave unattended. In WW II the russians used to set a parts tray full of gasoline alight under the nose of their aircraft to start them in the harsh Russian winters. (Read the Blonde Knight of Germany) I don't think I'd try it either. The results may be similar that one time in 10,000. Bob

In Canada, EVERY locality gets some snow, on occasion.

Winnipeg tends to be cold all winter with few thaws. Calgary has "chinooks"--windy mild spells which sometime melt most of the snow cover. Calgary is about one hour's drive or so from the Rocky Mountains....180 miles south from where I live. I'd take Calgary anyday over Winnipeg.

Hi, Welcome mat is out for you. I am in Calgary since 1970. Most robust city in Canada(probably in the world) One of 10 best city to live in the world. Pop. is almost million now. No sales tax, friendly people. Clean environment, low crime rate, you name it, it's all good compared to other places. My car did not have any trouble starting in -30C weather every morning. We know how to take care of cars in cold weather and knows how to drive on snow/ice too. Tony
