Oil Pan Rust Hole, 92 F-150??

jb will work, but you have to get it shiny clean and DRY. Drain the oil whilst hot and then the next morning, take brake cleaner and the appropriate items to clean and shine. Then warm the spot ever so slightly with a propane torch. This will dry it completely. Now mix your jb. Then warm ever so slightly again and apply the jb. It won't look too pretty, but it will work. Better plan on replacing that pan eventually.

I agree with Steve. You must get the pan extremely clean and have all the oil drained first. That being said, I can't remember the last time I saw an oil pan rusted through or even close to it. The cheap paint they use always flakes off. The f-series had lots of problems with oil pan gaskets squeezing out between the pan and engine. Most oil pan concerns are caused by the gasket problem, a rear main seal or a damaged oil plug gasket.

Just FYI, Ford has had a problem with the pans rusting out from the outside in. I've replaced 6 myself in our fleet of 35.

What part of the country are you from. I honestly haven't seen any and have been dealing the fords for quite a while on the east coast.
