'09 Cobalt or wait for 2010 Cruse ?

Just read Car-&-driver and Motor trend reviews of the Cruze from a few days ago (thanks cruzepost.com) - all I can say is I want one ! But since its due this time next year at best in the US & with this economy who knows when ((GM needs to go full tilt boogie IMO))) anyway I may just get an '09 Cobalt LT (good prices round here, and when Red tag sale hits again ...) for now my 2000 Civic is doing fine but it's getting long in the tooth as they say) then revisit the Cruse in 2015 or so, anyone see a problem with this ? (anti GM comments not needed)

My only thought would be that the Cobalt resale will likely decline once they're off the market and formally replaced with the new Cruze... which is purportedly a 'world class vehicle" (whatever that means to you)....

But if you need (and want) a new car, you'll likely NEVER see a better deal than they'll currently offer you on a new Cobalt. A good friend of mine just bought one and claims he saved nearly 4 grand off the sticker - which to me seems impossible on such an inexpensive car, but never the less, we know they have great deals at present.

Tnx Wes, I visited a big Chevy dealer here (Houston) - lots of Cobalt's but they wanted near MSRP, I wanted to ask um what they were smoking but didn't, time is on my side ?
