The gas gauge, temperature gauge and air conditioning all stopped working quite suddenly on my 1998 Malibu. The gauges are both stuck right at the bottom and don't budge at all. The A/C also conked out at the same time. Just prior to this happening, the rear passenger brake panel was replaced (at the dealer) as the brake lights stopped working. Does anyone has any suggestions as to what the problem might be? The dealer said it might be the instrument panel ($5oo to replace) but wasn't sure if it would take care of the A/C. Any comments are greatly appreciated!!

That's the sort of thing that points to items like:
- Bad Ground(s)
- Blown Fuses
- Positive wore shorting.
- Bad or Shorting out relays.
You will need a wiring diagram, a circuit tester, a few jumper leads, and some time to find the problem. Charles
