GM could save on costs by changing the name "EV-1" to "Volt" and recycle the advertising.

GM cold not do that, even if it were possible to do so.

The Volt is built to meet all todays NHTSA and EPA standards. The EV1 was not, it was built under exceptions granted to GM for an experimental vehicle, by the NHTSA and the EPA at the time. That is why EV1's were only leased by GM and could not ever be sold. The US government required All of the EV1's to be destroyed, after the exceptions expired.

proof ? =========================================== Do you think the EV1 was designed to meet 2009 NHTSA standards? Or do you not think they were all destroyed? 'Cause both are true.

That's easy, go try and FIND an EV1 LOL
