I saw a small clip in Sunday's Chicago Tribune Auto Section said Chevy will add Silverado SS with 2WD to the Silverado line-up. It will be priced $3100 less than the 4WD.

That should help the performance, the AWD version kinda looses power to the ground having all the extra drivetrain to work through.
