Not a wash, it helped jack up our national debt to all time record highs. BOzo has managed to pile on more debt in two years than GW did in eight. That has to mean something, one would think.

Oh, and the used car market is now totally screwed up because there is a shortage of good used cars--so people who have insufficient income to buy a new BOzo GMobile now have the joy of either overpaying for a used car, or... walking. Once again, a good move from the socialists now in congress and the white house.

GWB used a back door draft with the Guard, ran a credit card debt war on two fronts and now its actually on budget (sort of). Either way GWB, of "Mission Accomplished" shame will go down is history as a real dud. Socialism? What has our Free Market Capitalism accomplished? CITI Group, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Wall Street and To Big To Fail Banks, ad nauseum-a colossal failure due to truly unbridled greed & ego and "regulation" that was a bad joke. IOW Free Market Capitalism has been a colossal failure, great going Party of No!

I'll take European Socialism over the degenerate cancer you seem to espouse of Free Market Capitalism.

OK, enjoy your move over there, and keep us posted as to how you like the massive taxes (gas, income, VAT, etc.)

They deliver on medical care unlike the Party of No.

Well, I lived in socialist countries before, and they DID deliver on medical care. When you count the benefits in those countries, and compare them with the tax rates in the USA, there was little difference, if any, in the effective tax rate.

Capitalism is what has made the US the strongest economy in the history of the world. China recently became the second economy, at around half that of the US, by embracing Capitalism rather than Communism.

Apparently our friend "gordian" is one of the non-producers in the US, that rely on government hand outs, supported by the Capitalist producers that pay the way for them.

Are you referring to the so called government healthcare plan to lower healthcare costs, that the HBO says will add an addition TRILLION dollars to the national debt for the next ten years, that medical care?

At what a terrible human cost from the Wall Street "Lords of the Universe" and the big banks? That greed has cost us dearly, very dearly. Possibly to the point of placing us in the past tense.

BTW you are one of the few that doesn't have Mikey in your KF.

I have talked to several people who cannot afford to buy a used car because the prices have gone up so much, thanks to this great idea given to us by Obama and his socialist friends.

One thing you dont hear about is the thousands of people sucked into this scam, who traded in a car that was paid off, for a new car they could not afford, and has since had it reposessed, leaving them with nothing to drive. Sounds kinda like our housing market problems we have, doesnt it?

Of course, the one good thing about the whole debacle is we ended climate change.

Interesting.

Now you have got people 65 miles away from work in a house they do not own having no car and possibly soon lliving in a tent or a caravan they probably do not own either because they do not come to work so they have no job either.

Great system!

In france they got people like that and they are shipping them back to rumania.

Perfect example of how and why socialism does not work, and why it does not need to be incorproated into a free market.

Our socialistic, left leaning government, in its genius, thought getting a lot of paid for 20 mph vehicles off the road, and replacing them with financed 22 mph vechicles would be good for the economy. Get those factories up and running in Japan, Korea, and Germany. A lot of ignorant people got sucked into the scam, just like they were when govenment sponsored, low interest rates were thrown at them even though they had no chance to ever make the payments on a home loan.

Of course, they were also convinced that Clunkers for Kooks would help end climate change, so they felt real good about themselves.

Until the first car payment came due.

I agree, great system.

I only hope we get back to real capitalism, and soon.

What is real capitalism?

I think we have more or less all seen that none of the pure or real systems do work on their own.

We are going to have some sort of mixture.

There is a lot of taxation in all countries and some redistribution of wealth.

How well it works is up to deate.

Information about scams and plundering is what we must rely on to keep the scoundrels at bay.

Best system is when everyone has enough for base needs and gets paid extra for work performed.

How different jobs a valued is something the market of supply and demand should take care of.

Free press and free speach is what we need to keep unjust people at bay.

I do not think the US has had real capitalims for over a hundred years or more if ever.

I guess real capitalism is the law of the strong and let the weak die.

It is a complete the rule of supply and demand and no cushion for those who have little or nothing.

It is difficult to let the rich pay more than the poor.

If you have the same brand it is difficult to sell it at one price in one state and to another in another state if the information flows freely.

It is interesting that exactly the same car with different name or brand can be sold for vastly different prices.

Real socialism does not work either because then there is no incentives to do anything.

The jobs banks allow people inside GM to not do anything.

I am not sure if you can call the former bankrupt GM pure real socialistic or the new one pure capitalistic.

Same goes for the US as a whole.

Interestingly enough there were people in denial over GM being the biggest and the best all the time before GM fell completel flat and went bankrupt.

In a similar manner there is the question if the US is the biggest and best eccconomy in the world.

China has overtaken Japan as number two and question is if or when it will become number one any time soon.

Then there is the question if US will then fall below Japan.

Europe as a whole is already bigger than the US and it is also interesting that if you count all the countries in Europe together they always win more medals combined than the US in the Olympics.

There are also more people in Europe but we seldom count Europe as one.

Really? If not Capitalism, what is it your believe has made the US the strongest economy in the history of the world. Do you believed China recently became the second economy, at around half that of the US, by sticking with Communism?

Apparently he is unaware that the average unemployment rate in most of Europe is in the double digits and several counties are in or nearing bankruptcy.

The US GDP is more than TWICE that of China. If China could, but it can not, continue its growth at it present rate, it would take thirty five year to equal that of the US, today.
